Pleats and Folds

After watching Zoe from Make It Crafty's video tutorial Folds/Pleats Simplified with Copic Markers.  I decided to dive in and try this technique myself.  After 3 tries I am pleased with my results.  Oh! I know it will take more practice to get as good as Zoe but none the less I am pleased with my results.

Attempt 1

The pleats and folds are starting to take shape, but still look a little flat to me.  

Attempt 2

My pleats and folds seem to be getting more defined.  I can see some dimension in the image but still not happy with it.

Attempt 3

I am very happy with the results on my 3rd attempt.  I feel the pleats and folds stand out nicely taking the flatness out of the image.

Skin:  E000, E01 & R20
Hair: E25, E31 & E50
Bow:  BG02, BG05 & BG07
Dress:  BG02, BG05, BG07 & BG9
Socks: C1, C3 & C5
Shoes:  E25, E29, E35, E53 & E55
Balloon:  R37, R39 & R59

I love the richness of the colors that I used on Tilda's dress, hair bow and balloon.  I will have to go back and work on attempt 1 & 2 some more to get them to a level I am happy with.  It was good practice to work on multiple copies of the stamped images that are the same image.

I still have lots to learn but am pleased so far with the results I am getting.  Definitely will be watching Zoe's video for Folds/Pleats Simplified a few more times before moving on to what I call the advanced version of Creases/Folds.

Sherwood Edwin

I have always admired the look of distressed inks on stamped images.  So I took the plunge and ordered some distress inks.  Here is my first attempt at coloring with Distress Inks. I used some Twinkling H20's on the feathers...these are another nice medium to work with that I plan to explore more in the future.

Sherwood Edwin is from the Magnolia Fairy Tale Collection.  I purchased him from Diana over at Magnolia-licious....I see that Sherwood Edwin is in stock too.

 I have decided that I am going to sign up to take Angie's Distress Inks Class over at Color Me Creative Classroom.  I am just waiting for my paper to arrive and a few more inks to arrive first.

Hockey Girl Sneak Peak

One day I was looking through the digital images on KennyK Downloads and was in awe of all of them.  So many of them went on my wish list and I have purchased a few of them....an added bonus is each month Kenny offers a different digi for free.  One of the images that stood out to me in the All Starz Collection was Hockey Girl.  I don't have a daughter that plays hockey but I do have a few friends and a cousin that play hockey.   So with a few people in mind for a card using the cute image of Hockey Girl I decided to purchase this cute stamp.  Well the opportunity to make a card with Hockey Girl presented it self quicker than I had expected.  So I spent Friday night coloring this cute image from KennyK.

 Now to finish creating the card and it will be ready for the lucky recipient.

More Tilda's

A while back a met a wonderful email friend Caroline who sent me some stamped images of  Tilda with Flowing hair as she was soldout at Diana's Magnolia-licious store.  I wanted to share with you some of what I have colored with my Copics. 

Tilda with her umbrella reminds me very much of what our weather has been like here.  We didn't really have summer this year we had more rain than we needed.  I guess we'll have to wait till next summer for better weather.

Loving Couple - Tilda and Edwin will be used on a card for a wedding we will be attending in October.  I really like how this stamped images expresses Love

Hope you enjoy these images.  Once I am able to set up my scrapbooking/card making supplies in our spare room I will be able to get to making up cards with these images.  Thank you again Caroline for sharing these  stamped images with me.

Tilda with Three Flowers

 Tilda with Tree flowers is one of my favorite Tilda stamps.  Both images are colored with my Copic Markers.  I didn't jot down the colors I used on the Blue outfit.  Both images are also stamped on Cryogen White with a hit of iridescent.

 

A week or so back I seen a card that was done to look like a black and white photograph.  I decided to take the plunge and try this method with a twist.  I really like black & white photographs with a touch of color.  Here is my version below.

Copic Colors Uses:
C1, C3, C5, C7 & C9 with R00 and R81 were used for the pink flowers.

I am really happy how these two cuties turned out.  I'd love to hear what you think!

Sweet Tilda

I had the chance to do a bit stamping on Wednesday evening.  Sweet Tilda stamp is one of my favorite Magnolia stamps.  Sweet Tilda is available from Magnolia-licious. I colored my Tilda with Copic's, I forgot to make note of the colors that I used for her dress.  Her skin is in E000, E00, E11 and R20.  Her hair is in YR23, Y23, E35 and E49.  These markers are wonderful to work with, they are alcohol based which makes them perfect for layering and blending.  This is my first stamped imaged colored completely in Copic, definitely will be coloring more with just Copics.  I coated her shoes in Diamond Glaze to give them the back patent look (I used to have as a kid) and I used Frosted Lace Stickles on the lace trim on her dress and hair bows.

Once our home renovations are wrapped up I will have more time to put this cute image on a card.

Tilda With Rose

About three weeks back I followed a tutorial on coloring with PrismaColored Pencils.  I really enjoyed coloring this sweet Magnolia stamped image.  If you would like to try this method of coloring your stamped images click HERE to go to Moni's tutorial.

 Here is a picture of my attempt at coloring an image completely with  PrismaColor Pencils.  I used the same colors that Moni uses in her tutorial.  The wings and lace trim are in Crystal Stickles.  I really like how well Tilda turned out.

Farmer Tilda

Being a farm girl myself, Farmer Tilda has a special place in my heart.

Here is a sneak peak at "Farmer Tilda" that I colored on Saturday.  This is my first attempt at "masking" and I am happy with how well it turned out.  I have an idea of how I am going to use her on a card, still planning out the shape leaning towards a barn or farm scene.

Tilda's skin is colored with Copics E000, E00, E11 & R20
Tilda's hair is colored with Copics E11 & E29
Tilda's clothes are colored with PrismaColored Pencils (Copenhagen Blue, Raspberry, Black & Cool Grey 50%)
Tilda's wings are done in Crystal Stickles

As I look at this picture I realized she isn't finished I forgot to color in the buckles on her overalls and her buttons on her shirt. I will have to finish her up before starting my card.

Sneak Peak -- Postponed

Tonight I completed my Explosion Box for MAGNOLIA-licious Challenge in celebration of the MAGNOLIA-licious Yahoo Group's 2nd Birthday. I had a blast assembling this box...right from coloring my stamped image of Magnolia's Tilda with Rose to assembling the box.  I can't wait to try another one, think this will be the type of Christmas Card I make for my 4 girl friends from High School.

I am having a bit of problem uploading the pictures, so am unable to give you a sneak peek of my creation in anticipation to tomorrow's post.  Seems like my internet connection is extremely slow and not allowing me to upload my photo for the sneak peak.  Stay tuned to tomorrow to see the finished product.

Well it is getting late and I have an early morning tomorrow.

Here is a of picture of the stamped image I colored Saturday night with my PrismaColors (OMS). This stamp is a Sugar Nellie - PenPal from Funky Kits in Scotland.

I really like how well she turned out. I will post the details when I post the completed card. I have an idea of who I will be sending this card too but don't want to mention who so it is a surprise.
